02 — METHODOLOGY

How the score is calculated.

Your Energy Score is a weighted composite of four variables: sleep (40%), stress (25%), exercise (20%), nutrition (15%). The weighting reflects research on which variables most strongly predict daily energy and cognitive output.

Sleep weighting (40%): Sleep is the single highest-leverage variable. Decades of research consistently show sleep deficit produces the largest negative impact on cognitive output, mood, and physical performance.

Stress weighting (25%): Chronic elevated stress disrupts sleep, recovery, and cognition. We weight it second because stress patterns sustained over time produce compounding effects.

Exercise weighting (20%): Regular physical activity has consistent effects on energy, mood, and cognitive function. The non-linear relationship (3+ days/week threshold) is reflected in scoring.

Nutrition weighting (15%): Lowest weighting because nutritional quality affects performance more on long timescales than daily energy. Significant changes show up over weeks-to-months.
